Peace in Our Time

“Peace in our time.”

This is one of my favorite lines from a Marvel movie. Maybe that doesn’t sound very spiritual to some, but I think part of being here is to enjoy life — and to find gratitude in all the unexpected places. It is such a great mantra to have in mind, “Peace in Our Time”. If you believe in manifestation. Whether you believe that it is magic or if you think of setting goals and creating actionable steps, this is a great focus.

When I think of peace, I also think of a recent post from Pam Gregory where she talked about how our inner peace ripples out to the collective.

We know that energy is everything. Everything is connected. So that ripple… must be true.

The path of growth and evolution is not simple. I don’t want to sound flippant, there are places in the world right now where I am sure peace feels very far away. But for those of us that cannot help or don’t know how to help, it can create a lot of worry and despair even in peaceful neighborhoods. We are all connected. Whether there are relatives or just a deep concern of humanity, the tragedies across the planet can be felt.

There is so much we can choose to worry about. So many ways to get pulled in to a constant worry and fear which can make it very hard to actually build a better reality. I think of those ancestors that kept going through the toughest times with hope of a brighter future. In some places and ways we are still learning but also in some places, we have developed a lot of peace which I say, let that peace be a gift for the world.

I believe we are on the road to a more loving world, and holding that focus and vibration contributes more love to the planet. From being more peaceful, to making decisions and taking actions to bring more love and peace to collective.

We are learning, sometimes the hard way,  how to take care of each other.

And it begins within.

Peace Begins Closer Than We Think

Inner peace isn’t always passive.
Sometimes it asks something of us.

Sometimes it looks like:

    • Saying no
    • Setting a boundary
    • Walking away from something comfortable
    • Choosing healing over habit
    • Taking responsibility for your reality and your life

It might mean leaving a job, shifting a friendship, or making space to sit in stillness when everything in you wants to stay busy.

Most of the time, it will all be internal shifts. How are you treating those around you? Are you being peaceful, contributing to peace? I like to visualize this as tending to my garden. The only change we have control over is the change we do for ourselves. Respecting where others are is very important for maintaining peace. We can do our best to offer support and help, but fostering an environment of inclusion and kindness helps others to do their inner growth more so than going in with a big ego and dictating how people “should” be.

Finding your peace is personal. There is no one path.

But as you begin to cultivate it within yourself, something beautiful happens —
the people around you can feel it.

Peace becomes something that is seen, heard, and felt.
And it invites others into their own version of it.

I’ve seen this ripple effect in real life. And it gives me so much hope.

Creating the World We Want to Live In

I’m not a politician.
I’m an artist.

I like to think of the DADA art movement. During World War II, a group of artists gathered in Switzerland and began creating what became known as Dada — abstract, strange, sometimes nonsensical art.

But to me, it feels like they were responding to chaos by creating something entirely new and obsurd for an obsurd world, and it was very strange to a lot of viewers.

That’s how I see my role. It might seem very strange to some people to want to focus on drumming and making art.. I work very hard at my day job but we also need to feed our soul. We need to create the new world. I keep hearing people talk about the “new Earth”, what does that look like? The new market place.. power to the people. No more duality. Could we even comprehend!!

I like to visualize the world I want to live in — a peaceful, healthy, connected world — and speak it into being. To create it through art. Through intention. Through presence. Through encouraging others to share their love, their joy, their connection to a higher source. To be light workers and to help create peace.

And honestly, it is up and down.

A Conversation With Peace

When you begin to have a deep contemplation with PEACE — with God, Buddha, Source, Spirit, Alah, whatever your higher source is — you start to notice things differently.

It’s like when you buy a car and suddenly you see that same car everywhere.

When you tune into peace, you start to notice:

    • What brings you closer to it

    • What pulls you away from it

Simple, everyday choices begin to matter more.

Does that extra caffeinated drink support your nervous system… or push it further out of balance?
Does engaging in gossip feel good in your body… or would changing the subject bring more ease?

Peace isn’t something far away.
It’s woven into the small choices we make throughout the day.

Coming Back Into Alignment

Life moves fast — especially here in California, but I imagine it can be in any urbanized culture.

It’s easy to get out of sync.
Out of touch with our bodies, our feelings, and the natural rhythm of life.

But we’ve been given so many tools — from our ancestors and from modern practices — to come back.

If you’re feeling disconnected from your peace, you might explore:

    • Sound frequencies or sound baths

    • Guided meditation

    • Time in nature

    • Rest

    • Reducing stimulation (like caffeine or constant input)

These are simple, but powerful ways to return to yourself.

Pathways Back to Peace

This is also why I offer spaces for people to reconnect in their own way.

Through portal painting, we create visual doorways into new ways of being.
Through drum making, you build a sacred instrument — a spirit ally — that carries your prayers and intentions.

When you drum, you connect to the  mother’s heartbeat. There’s something deeply  healing in that rhythm… like returning to the comfort of the womb or like remembering something ancient within yourself.

There are so many paths back to peace.
And there are many helpers along the way.

A Final Thought

Peace doesn’t always look like stillness.
Sometimes it looks like courage.
Sometimes it looks like change.

But it always begins within.

And from there… it ripples outward.

If any of my offerings call to you, I would love to connect.

May peace be with you, your loved ones, and this beautiful planet.

Shine on ✨
